Day 310 -I’ve been wanting to do this portrait for a while and today it actually happened. This is actual hero. The kind of man that every teenage boy wants to be and every bad guy fears. He’s seen and done things that nobody wants to see and do that protects us. He’s sacrificed his time, his comrades, his blood, and his heart for our country. It goes mostly unnoticed, and he’s rarely given credit for the work he’s done. They say you can tell a lot from a man’s eyes. Someone commented just today that his eyes are kind. He never complains and despite all the toughness, he’s also a big teddy bear. I’m glad to call him my friend and I always sleep well at night knowing he’s out there. Thank you for all your years of service and keeping us all safe. You are a good man. -JULY 12
